Yes, you can enroll at any time! Tuition will automatically prorate at checkout, if applicable. Monthly tuition is based on 4 weeks (not the calendar month), so the computer may prorate incorrectly since it may base it on the calendar month. If so, it will be adjusted after the registration is received. Take-home music materials are provided when families join within the first six weeks of the Fall, Winter or Spring semester. For the summer semester, materials are available within the 1st four weeks.
Music Together in Phoenix operates during the academic year (September through May) with continuous music membership. After initially registering for class, monthly tuition will be charged on your debit or credit card every four weeks through May, with no tuition due for December. A $10 late fee will be added to balances outstanding for a week; please ensure your billing information is current by logging into your account. Billing is based on the average tuition of the 32 classes over eight months of music and accounts for holidays. Summer is an optional separate 8 week semester. Please register separately for "Guitar for Grownups" and the Summer semester; they are not included in continuous membership. Registration Policies

Sing, dance, and have fun! You might be surprised to hear this, but truly YOU are your child’s most important music teacher right now—and it doesn’t matter whether you consider yourself a great singer or dancer. Young children develop dispositions for certain behaviors, including learning to love music, by observing and imitating their loved ones.
Simply by participating enthusiastically during class and playing with the ideas at home throughout the week, you’ll give your children the modeling they need to the passion for choosing to be a music maker. Children need to repetition of hearing and playing with the songs frequently to learn deeply and integrate the music in their bodies.
Because we are primarily focusing on our children and the music, it is best to limit the use of cell phones until after class. While it's okay to take a quick picture once or twice during class, please then put phone/camera so you can be present with your child.
We recommend using non-verbal communication with children (and other adults) as much as possible to keep the environment musical to support our children's innate musicality. It might feel strange at first, but we invite grownups to resist the urge to verbally coach their children, such as "good job" or "put your instrument away", as this detracts from the overall musical environment and creates a verbal noise distortion. A warm smile and eye contact can be very effective parenting strategies during class.
At Music Together, children are never required to sit in the circle or expected to conform to an adult’s idea of participation. We know that children learn differently from adults. They learn instinctively and constantly, through observation, interactions with adults and older children, and through imitation, play, and, especially, movement. One hallmark of Music Together is the insight that children will naturally develop music ability simply when they are immersed in a community of families all making music.
Children’s responses depend on their most dominant learning style and temperament as well as their age and developmental level. Some might follow the teacher right away. Many will simply want to watch and absorb, particularly in the first few weeks of class. Some might crawl or toddle around; others are stimulated by the music and respond more actively, running, jumping, or dancing. All are perfectly natural responses to the new, musically rich environment. Throughout the weeks, your teacher will help you tune in to how your child learns best so you can support their music development in class and at home. Feel free to ask if you have questions!
Play your songs at home and in the car frequently; this repetition is vital to the learning and makes the class-time more fun, meaningful, and educational for both YOU and your child in class. Make the music available for your child to listen during play time, before naps, or bedtime. Create your Family Music Zone® account at Music Together LLC and download the Music Together app for digital versions of the songs and more activity ideas to try! Use the songbook to help you learn the songs and get new ideas for musical ideas to use at home. The music notation is available through the Family Music Zone® (or for purchase @ only $1), if you play an instrument and want to play along. Try using the songbook at story time and sing through the songs as you go along.
Always wanted to learn an instrument? Check out our Guitar Class for Grownups (available Fall/Winter/Spring only), a specially designed six week class for grownups to easily play songs from class at home on guitar (or ukulele).
After registering, you will receive a confirmation with the link to request to join our private "Music Together In Phoenix Active Families" Facebook Group. Please make sure that [email protected] does not go to your spam or junk emails. All the recorded videos can also be found at our special "Family Portal" page in the "Enrolled Families" section of our website.
If your child is sick, please keep them home and schedule a make-up class (or jam along with any of the recorded classes). Schedule a make-up class online via the Make-Up Scheduler. Unlimited make-ups are offered as a courtesy to enrolled families and are available depending on class size on a first-come basis to families with active membership. Make-up classes are valid for the current & previous song collection and expire at the end of the last active session (month of membership) and do not carry over to future enrollments or transfer to siblings. You must be currently enrolled to schedule and attend make-up classes.
If your child is sick, please keep them home and schedule a make-up class. As per the DHS regulations, keep your child home if your child:
If a child comes to class with visible symptoms of illness, we will kindly request that you take your child home to let them recover. If your child suffers from non-contagious, sick-looking symptoms such as allergies, please bring a doctor's note to share with the teacher. It is very important for families to feel safe in class. Thank you for helping us keep our classes safe and fun for everyone!
If you know you are going to be absent, please log in to your Music Together in Phoenix account in the "Enrolled Families" section and select the "Schedule" tab. Please click on the date(s) that you will be absent. This will open an additional space for make-ups. You can also report an absence and schedule a make-up a the same time in the make-up scheduler.
If naps or schedules change, please contact the office to request a transfer: [email protected]. There are many educational benefits for children to have the continuity of musical community in their classes; we often see a child's comfort and trust level grow as they experience a similar group of familiar faces each week. We do, however, understand that situations arise, and you may need to request a transfer. This will be considered depending on availability and class size.
When a new family registers and puts your name in the "Referred by" section on their registration, you both receive $15 off next month's tuition. We ♥ our families . . . THANK YOU in advance!
Please feel comfortable to nurse or bottle-feed your child in class, but do not bring food or drinks (aside from water) into classrooms.
Do not bring unapproved children or unregistered siblings to class. If you wish to bring a sibling to class, please email the office.with the sibling's name, birthdate and visit date. Your Music Together account will be charged $20. If you have a friend that would like to experience Music Together, please have them sign up via the Drop In Scheduler.
We welcome bringing extra grownups along to class, however, please share our class etiquette, ie resisting the urge to coach children and talk, and that classes are participation oriented. We can always bring a chair into the circle for elderly visitors.
Classes with children of different ages have intellectual and social benefits for both younger and older children. In fact, it’s the learning environment recommended by many early childhood researchers. Older children learn empathy and awareness of others, while developing leadership qualities and gaining self-confidence. Younger children learn by imitating the older ones and often show more complex social behaviors earlier than usual. Even babies benefit by being in an environment that gives them lots of opportunities to observe the behavior of children of varying ages. Plus, this natural family-style grouping allows everyone—siblings, parents, grandparents, caregivers—to share in the musical experience together, as a family. Please note that our Mixed Ages classes are developmentally appropriate for infants through children age 5 years. The Rhythm Kids® curriculum is specially designed for children ages 4.5 years up to age 8 years.
