ALL CHILDREN ARE MUSICAL! We also believe that ALL children can reach Basic Music Competence (singing with accurate pitch and rhythm) if they have adequate musical experiences in the first five years of their lives. While our Music Together family classes are open to all, we recognize that there may be cases in which families are not able to attend a typical mixed-age family class.
Our outreach programs seek to offer Music Together Family Music or Music Together Registered Preschool to serve low-income or at-risk families; children with special needs, whether physical, developmental, or medical; the elderly, through inter-generational programs; developmentally disabled adults and more.
We are currently serving the greater Phoenix area through the following outreach programs:

Using Music Together Preschool curriculum to serve 3 - 4 year olds, Music Together in Phoenix has been facilitating preschool music at Booker T Washington since 2007. We are very appreciative of the generous funding from the Allen Saylor Memorial Foundation. The teachers and the families are encouraged to continue making the music beyond the special weekly Music Together Preschool classes with the specialist. Teachers are in-serviced each year and receive the music for daily play and weekly ideas for encorporating music with the Head Start Curriculum. Each semester culminates with a big music-making event that includes the preschool teachers, the siblings, the parents (and grandparents) of the preschool children to celebrate making music together.
Previous out reach programs we have facilitated:
- Inter-generational music & movement Music Together classes with the seniors at Brighton Gardens Retirement Home.
- Music & Movement classes at Arts Intersession Camp at U-Mom through Free Arts of Arizona.
- Summer Music & Movement classes in Peoria School District through Title One.
- Music & Movement in-service for Head Start Preschool Teachers at Booker T Washington and Greater Phoenix Urban League.
- Music Together Preschool music classes at Great Phoenix Urban League.
- Music & Movement Parent Workshops at Early Head Start.
- Prenatal/Infant Parent Workshop at Goodwill through Nurse-Family Partnership at Southwest Human Development.
- Music & Movement Workshop for young parents at Maricopa Center for Adolescent Parents/
